Taare Zameen Par...

And the award for most sensible movie for year goes to...Taare Zameen Par...

A very thought provoking movie which took Hindi cinema to another level.Once again Ameer Khan came out as The King. He proved that good movies can be made without superstars...giving very little lights to himself, and the entire space to the new kid Darsheel, who came out as quite a star. And yes how can we forget Mr. Prasoon Joshi for his amazing lyrics again..after Rang De Basanti...he is really good at writing emotions in the same manner we feel but are never able to express. The song MAA left all girls crying in the theatre and I downloaded the same as soon as I came back.
Dear Bollywood, plz make some more movies like this!!!

Procrastination...

Well, the good old procrastination effect...I know I have to finish the "settle hona hai" thing but it really becomes difficult for me to complete the "to be contd.." aspects. It is not only about the posts but other good things of LIFE as well. I believe in either finishing the subject or not starting at all and whenever I leave things in between (thats rare..rarer than platinum ;), it takes real good time to complete them or sometimes they hang in "shunya".

!!!...PMI...!!!

We were asked to do the PMI some days back after a review meet in Bangalore. Found it interesting..so here comes my perspective of the PMI's being a Wealth Advisor. For the information of common man PMI is Plus, Minus and Interesting of the work profile (here Wealth Advisor in ICICI Bank).

P (Plus):
  1. I get to talk a lot..sense or non sense...but i love talking...
  2. I meet some really good, high profile, learned and rich people...its actually is a great learning experience...sometimes I do discuss things other than business...for the sake of understanding and learning things from their experience.
  3. I enjoy tracking capital markets.
  4. I like the idea of advising...
M (Minus) :
  1. Can't advise on direct equity...a complaince issue...but it would have been great if this was allowed.
  2. Can't take off whenever I want...reason..am morally responsible for the hard earned money I have invested.
I (Interesting) :
  1. I get to talk a lot..sense or non sense...but i love talking...(this is not repetition..i thinks its a P as well as an I)
  2. Was a complete marketing person, but now have developed interest in financial markets.
  3. Have learned how to tackle goof ups...done by me or somebody else...he he he
  4. I get a chance to analyze behavior of different sets of people and the stimulus-response dynamics.

P.S.: The no of points are 10 in this post as well..so I have again kept my words.

Settle hona hai yaar!!!!

Have worked for one and a half years now and the BIG question has come to my mind...settle hona hai yaar!!! Everyone is some or other day haunted by this question!!!Now this settlement has various aspects which need to be seriously addressed and I am again putting my bullet point version of those for the betterment of human race...

  1. Getting Married : Now this is the most crucial aspect as the stimulus never comes from your innerself. The stimulus is generated copiously somewhere around you and is thrown at your face. Its a recurring event n will calm down only after you tie the knot.
  2. Job shift : Another thing that comes to picture when one talks about settlement. He/She is hell lot frustrated with the present job and wants a deperate shift.
  3. Location change : It has two sub options:
    1. From hometown to a so called better place for career growth. (coz people want independence and they get bored of coming early home coz somevody is waiting there for them...well don't give me those looks..its the truth!!!)
    2. From some metro to hometown.(coz everybody at office is talking about home and one feels that is the best place to be and when you are there, refer to sub point 1 of main point 3)
Some more is to come...have to cook dinner...so...to be continued....

Myself...random thoughts!!!

  1. I can study while watching cricket on TV and am at my best concentration levels while listening to music which I dnt understand.
  2. I speak very fast.
  3. I sleep sharp at 11 PM.
  4. I started bunking classes when I was in 10th standard, still maintained good grades.
  5. The shortest time for which I sat in a final exam was 20 mins (wanted to leave in 10 mins but the prof din't allow).
  6. I love reading fiction specially Erich Segal because he writes in first person and I don't like Sydney Sheilden because I think the heroins in his stories are not by quality but by chance.
  7. I am in love with no. 10 because I was born on 10/10. So my all posts would always be in 10 points.
  8. I dream a lot and that has intution element in it.
  9. I first observe people and things around me and then jump into it. Thats the precise reason why people think i am an introvert at first meeting.
  10. A confession: I once threw burning crackers at a girl I never liked in school. That was the first and last time I ever hurt anybody intentionally and still feel bad about it.

why pollyanna???

Thought a lot...what should I name my blog....after all it should reflect me in true senses...then began the session of introspection...what defines me best???what is the one thing which cannot be separated from me???
However, one can't count me amongst the most experienced ones but ya when I ran through the 24 years of my life, one thing I have mastered is "the art of dreaming". I enjoy visualising myself doing things which I aspire for: visiting the best beaches in the world, being awarded as the business women of the year, imagining myself sitting in the library which i wana have for myself....and this helps me a lot. This instills sheer optimism in me and am always ready to take things headon. The dreams keep me sane and tell me to always move forward. I never dream about past, its gone and nothing can be done about it.
Hence POLLYANNA!!!
